报 告 人：Michael R. Powers是清华大学经济管理学院苏黎世保险集团讲席教授、金融系系主任，从事风险和保险数学的教学；他同时还是《风险金融》、《亚太风险与保险》杂志的主编，是中国“千人计划”的成员；Powers教授研究领域广泛，包括政府监管和公共政策、博弈中的风险与保险、企业风险管理中的数学模型、风险转移的税收待遇等；Powers教授在加入清华大学之前供职于天普大学商学院，从事风险管理以及保险学的教学研究；Powers教授在耶鲁大学以最优等的成绩获得了应用数学的理学学士学位，之后他在哈佛大学获得了统计学博士学位。

DUAL-WEEK SEMINAR

TOPIC: Are Chinese More Cooperative than Americans?

SPEAKER: Michael R. Powers is the Zurich Insurance Group Chair Professor of Risk Mathematics at Tsinghua University’s School of Economics and Management and Chair of the Department of Finance. A 2011 recipient of China’s Qian Ren Ji Hua award, he also serves as chief editor of the Asia-Pacific Journal of Risk and Insurance. Powers’ research covers a variety of areas, including: government regulation and public policy; applications of game theory in risk and insurance; mathematical models in enterprise risk management; and the tax treatment of risk transfers. Powers joined Tsinghua from Temple University’s Fox School of Business, where he was professor of risk management and insurance. Powers received his B.S. in applied mathematics, summa cum laude, from Yale University, and his Ph.D. in statistics from Harvard University.
