About Baoding

Baoding (Chinese: 保定; pinyin: Bǎodìng) is a city in Hebei province, China, approximately 150 kilometres (93 mi) southwest of the national capital, Beijing. It is a city with a history dating back to the Western Han Dynasty, located in the centre of the Bohai Rim economic area which includes Beijing, Tianjin and Shijiazhuang. About Xiong’an 

China's central government was considering to relocate a number of Beijing's administrative and back-office functions to Baoding, as Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, told US former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson personally in July 2014, and said this idea was his "own personal initiative", according to Paulson's memoir Dealing with China. The name and the location of the New Area was confirmed on a meeting of Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China on March 24, 2016. The announcement of the New Area. was released to public out of the blue on the afternoon of April 1, 2017. The information was so confidential that local government didn't know it in advance. Xi Jinping's visiting accompanied by Xu Kuangdi, former leader of Pudong New District, to Anxin on February 23, 2017 was revealed for the first time by news program Xinwen Lianbo on that night. About Baiyang Lake

Baiyang Lake, also known as Lake Baiyangdian, is located in the Xiong'an New Area of Baoding, a prefecture-level city in Hebei Province, China. It is the largest freshwater lake in northern China.
